Self-Esteem is much more than Self-Confidence.?
The word ?esteem? is derived from the Latin word?aestimare?which means ?to put a value on?.?
Thus, your ?Self Esteem? is the ?value you put on yourself?. Your self-esteem is your conviction that you are uniquely valuable. When you have high self-esteem you will have the capacity to live creatively, stand by your values, beliefs and principles, and you will have the competence to accomplish something vital to your individuality. Is it possible to assess self-esteem??
How do you recognize whether a person has self-esteem. Persons with high self-esteem do not need to prove themselves. Yes, if you have high self-esteem you do not feel the need to prove yourself to the outside world ? you do not need to prove yourself to others.Conversely?persons with low self-esteem will be observed trying to prove themselves?? they boast, put others down, show off, drop names, speak excessively and always talk about their themselves and try to hog the conversation, they keep telling you about their achievements and display snobbish behaviour.?
People with low self-esteem?are extremely?self-conscious about their appearanceand?desperately fish for compliments?and are?unduly concerned?about what other people think about them.?
They may talk in an imperative tone of voice, try to pull rank and emphasize their authority and show-off their status, position or wealth, act in a boastful manner, always seem ?keyed up? and move around in an excited manner as if in a perpetual hurry ?to get the job done? and try to ?dominate? others.?
Look around your workplace and among your friends.?
If you observe someone behaving in this way be sure that he or she has low self-esteem.Close your eyes and recall some of your own interactions in the recent past, professional and social, at work and with your friends. Imagine as if you have gone outside your body and you are watching yourself from the outside as you interact and converse with others.?
Reflect and Introspect:?Did you display any indicators of low self-esteem??
Remember, an important internal indicator of low self-esteem is that you feel excessively self-conscious?as you try to "prove yourself" to others?around?you wondering what they think about you and this sometimes causes you to feel internally stressed-out.
You can recognize individuals with high self-esteem by their body language.?
When they speak to you they make?good eye contact?and they are relaxed, calm, measured in movement, yet firm and decisive.?
A person with good self-esteem?will exhibit a quiet confidence and?will not fish for compliments, but if you do compliment them they will say ?Thank You? and accept your compliment with politeness and humility.?
They are honest, humble and modest and are genuinely interested in other people and their achievements.?
They do not bother about external recognition as they have confidence in their own abilities. Persons with high self esteem are always genuine and never ?fake it?.The bedrock of self-esteem is self-acceptance.?
If you have high self-esteem you will accept yourself as you are and you will not indulge in ?image management?.?
Hence you will never be afraid of being ?found out? since you will always project what you actually are since you don?t have to ?prove yourself? to others. ? People with?low self-esteem?who are always desperate to ?prove themselves? and impress others often fall prey to?image management?techniques and since they try to project an exaggerated or contrived (fake) image of themselves they always live under the fear of being found out.Do you want to enhance your self-esteem??
It is simple.?
Just?start liking yourself.?
First accept yourself as you are and then learn to like yourself.?
Don?t bother about proving yourself to others.?
Take pride in your individuality.?
Be your own hero.?
Start enjoying yourself, be proud of yourself, and when you feel you have done something good, don?t seek praise from others but reward yourself for what you do and praise yourself.?
Remember to do this in all aspects of your life ? at work and in your personal life as well.Continual self-evaluation, self-acceptance and self-reward will produce a paradigm shift in your behaviour from being other-directed to being inner-directed.?
As you build up your self-esteem you will develop a strong sense of self.?
You will start liking yourself and will start believing in yourself. If you do not learn to reinforce yourself and if you succumb to the temptations of image management to seek approval of others and get obsessed with ?proving yourself? you may fall into the downward spiral of low self-esteem.I will end with a quote from Samuel Butler:
The advantage of doing one?s praising for oneself is that one can lay it on so thick and exactly in the right places.?? ??

?Comedienne Tig Notaro went onstage last month in Los Angeles and opened her set by saying ?Thank you, I have cancer, thank you.? The audience was shocked. In this week?s New York Times Magazine, Notaro talks about how she had a life-threatening infection, lost her mother to a freak accident days after leaving the hospital, and then was diagnosed with breast cancer. To cope, she did what she does best: got up onstage and laughed about it. It really struck me from this interview, jokes aside, that Tig Notaro is an extremely strong person. Very much hoping for she gets well soon ? and stops being on the receiving end of life?s shit stick.?[New York Times Magazine] [Image: NYT Magazine]

The sub-surface team on the Oseberg field has been awarded the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate?s prize for improved oil recovery (IOR) for its work in increasing recovery by means of gas injection.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate gives credit to the Oseberg specialists for their thorough efforts over many years to boost the value added by the field.
?We are proud and delighted to be awarded this prize, which has been given in recognition of Oseberg?s long tradition of responsible resource management and commercial operations. There is a great willingness in our organisation to continue this good work. Last year we managed to replace our production volume by new reserves in the Oseberg area. That is proof of perseverance in an area where we have producing for more than 20 years,? says Carl Frederik Eek-Jensen, head of petroleum technology in the Oseberg organisation.
Major investments
Gas injection has been the most important IOR measure on the main Oseberg field. ?The original plan was to develop the field using injected water as pressure support, but according to our calculations gas injection has generated 400-500 million extra barrels of oil on the field,? says Eek-Jensen.
Statoil and the licence partners are still investing heavily in the field. ?In fact, new 4D seismic is now available for us in mapping the remaining resources and this will provide a better basis for designing and positioning new wells on the field. Considerable sums have also been invested recently in drill upgrades on the platforms.
Last year we got the green light for extended gas injection and we are therefore deferring our increase in gas exports from 2017 to 2020. This will help us increase recovery even further.?
The current plans for Oseberg mean that the oil recovery rate for the main reservoir is estimated at as much as 69%. The average recovery rate in the rest of the world is 35%, while Statoil?s recovery rate for the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) as a whole is 50%.
Improved recovery ? every single day
?This is a considerable accolade for those who work every single day to obtain more oil from our fields and derive greater value from our oil and gas business,? says ?ystein Michelsen, executive vice president, Development & Production Norway.
For Statoil, improved recovery from existing fields is just as important as exploration in terms of maintaining the production levels on the NCS.
?The sub-surface specialists on Oseberg are the epitome of a team that has worked long and systematically on IOR to produce some fantastic results. IOR is all about thinking long term and holistically; and since we submitted our PDO for Oseberg in the 1980s, we?ve doubled the reserves on the field,? says Michelsen.
Troll gas gave more Oseberg oil
The recovery success story on Oseberg began with the Troll Oseberg gas injection project (TOGI). At the end of the 1980s the gas injection project was both revolutionary and controversial.
TOGI came on stream in 1991 and was utilised to inject gas from Troll in order to maintain pressure on the Oseberg field and ensure optimal recovery. It was a remotely controlled subsea installation ? the first of its kind in the world.
This technological breakthrough sparked international interest and represented a major step forward for the company. From 1991 to 2002 some 21.7 billion standard cubic metres of gas were injected into Oseberg.
Since then the Oseberg field used its own gas as pressure support in order to extract more oil. Currently some 2 billion standard cubic metres of gas are exported from the main field each year, though most to the field?s gas will be produced and sold after 2020.
Great activity during coming years
There will be a lot of activity in the Oseberg area during coming years. In addition to drilling on the four permanent installations, work proceeds on tying back new discoveries to existing installations. The Stjerne development will come on stream next year. In addition, there are plans for more seabed templates and a fast-track development project in the prospective Oseberg area.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and the Petroleum Directorate in Norway made important contributions to the Oseberg success. The Directorate was a driving force for TOGI, both in getting the operator at the time, Hydro, to examine the technological requirements, but also in getting the partners to agree on a final development decision.

Tanning Mom Patricia Krentcil was removed from a roast in her honor Wednesday at a New York bar after she was so drunk she couldn't stand up.
The Nutley, N.J. native "showed up for the red carpet and fell over,” at Hell’s Kitchen's XL Club, a witness said, according to the New York Post.
The source added that at one point, the 44-year-old mother of five became so incoherent that she "got up and tried to attack [a] drag queen.”
“We asked [Patricia Krentcil] what she wanted to drink and she slurred, ‘I didn’t put my kid in a tanning bed!’” a witness told the newspaper.
The organizers described their contingency plan for Tanning Mom getting out of hand ... and how it was put into effect within just a few minutes.
“We came up with a code word earlier: It was ‘Christmas' ... After about five minutes, we were just screaming ‘Christmas,’ and security came and took her out.”
If you missed it, Krentcil was arrested April 24 on a second-degree child endangerment charge when she allegedly took her six-year-old tanning.
According to New Jersey law (but apparently not common sense to Tanning Mom), no one 13-years-old or younger is allowed to enter the booths.
To see what she looked like before her bizarre obsession with trying to become the first-ever human raisin kicked in, check out Tanning Mom pale.

MAFRAQ, Jordan (AP) ? In an isolated stretch of Jordanian desert, a heavily guarded, secret compound houses 1,200 senior police and army officers who defected from nearby Syria.
The men live in trailers with fans but no air conditioning, surrounded by barbed wire, and they pass their days browsing the Internet and watching TV for news of Syria's civil war, longing to join the fight ? but they are largely unable to leave.
The Jordanian military runs the camp near a site formerly used by the U.S. to train some its forces for the war in Iraq, and the defectors are debriefed by intelligence agents. Access to them is tightly restricted for their own protection. They are even separated from their families, who live outside the camp near the northern border city of Mafraq but can get special police permits to visit.
The defectors in the camp are allowed to communicate with the rebel Free Syrian Army in Jordan and abroad, both in person and through telephone and Internet communications, but do not have what is considered valuable intelligence, according to Jordanian security officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to make press statements.
The facility is a sign of Jordan's growing role as a quiet supporter of Syria's opposition. But at the same time, Jordan wants to avoid aggravating tensions with its more powerful northern neighbor, fearing that President Bashar Assad may remain in power.
There are more than 160,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan, and their number is increasing by the thousands every day. About 8,000 live in a newly set up camp on the border, while the rest are scattered across Jordan.
Maintaining control over the refugees poses a security threat to the small, tightly controlled kingdom. Jordanian security officials and refugees have said there were pro-Assad "sleeper cells" in Jordan that could act against the refugees.
Jordan has rejected several requests by the Assad government for the extradition of the defectors and has allowed entry to hundreds of Syrian rebels who move freely around the country. It also has helped the refugees by giving them medical treatment.
It is not clear if former Syrian Prime Minister Riad Hijab, the most prominent defector to flee to Jordan, is housed in the desert facility or one elsewhere. Hijab fled under a plan coordinated between the Amman government and the Free Syrian Army.
The Associated Press asked to visit the desert facility but was denied access. However, the AP spoke to two of the camp residents who described the conditions there.
Khaldoun, a 47-year-old former Syrian army brigadier, said there were dozens of trailers housing up to seven men each, with fans stirring the desert air. Armed Jordanian soldiers guard the compound around the clock, he said.
The men spend their days exercising and playing backgammon and chess, and the Jordanians provide them with access to the Internet, TVs, cellphones and computers, said Khaldoun, who insisted on being identified by his first name only, citing concern for the safety of relatives in Syria.
"It's good to be here, away from the tension and war, but this is not what I had hoped for," he told the AP.
"I wanted to be part of the rebel movement fighting to liberate Syria," Khaldoun added. He said he spends most of his day watching TV, exchanging gossip, or browsing the Internet for news on the violence back home.
"It's difficult to watch the war in Syria on TV and the Internet and not be part of it," he added.
Khaldoun defected to Jordan in January at the height of the Assad regime's crackdown on his hometown, the central city of Homs, which became the hub of the uprising that began in March 2011. Hailing from a prominent Sunni Muslim family, he served in the 7th Armored Division for 23 years until his escape.
The security defectors range in rank from corporal to general ? but they said their access to state and military information was limited because as Sunnis they were kept in the dark by the inner circle of the ruling Alawite minority ? a Shiite Muslim offshoot ? that surrounds Assad.
The Jordanian security officials said access to the defectors was restricted because of concerns that pro-Assad elements could try to attack them.
A series of attacks on Syrians in Jordan has led refugees and Jordanian officials to believe agents of the Assad regime are operating in the kingdom on a campaign to hunt down opponents and intimidate those who have fled. Jordan has also arrested supposed defectors on suspicion that they were spying on Syrian refugees and dissidents.
The camp housing the defectors is near Jordan's largest air force base, which had been used as a training facility for U.S. forces in the past two decades during and after the wars in neighboring Iraq.
Jordanian government officials have refused to comment about the desert camp, saying that they have little information about the defectors.
The camp's refugees fled in batches since the uprising began, with most of them smuggled through a northern border fence by the Free Syrian Army and later interrogated by Jordanian intelligence to verify their identities and the authenticity of their stories, one of the Jordanian security officials said.
The defectors are between 40 and 60 years old, and some have chronic ailments such as high blood pressure, diabetes and back problems that prevented them from being in the frontline in Syria or joining the rebels, the officials said.
A handful of other senior military and police defectors are kept at a secret location elsewhere, one of the security officials said, including Syrian air force Col. Hassan Hammadeh, who flew his MiG-21 to Jordan on June 21.
Most of the defectors were seen as "small fish" who for the most part did not provide actionable intelligence, according to the Jordanian security officials and a Jordan-based Western diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity because identifying him would compromise his ability to gather information on Syria.
Still, one of the defectors at the desert compound said that as a colonel in the military, he held such a high rank that the Assad regime would go to great lengths to strike back at him.
"They would destroy a whole suburb if they think one of us is there," said the colonel, who identified himself only as Rahal, citing fears of retribution against relatives still in Syria.
"This is why I had to get out of Syria," he added.
Rahal said he and 37 other officers were jailed shortly after the start of the uprising, but a number of them were given amnesty and released in May. The regime told him to report to work but merely shuffled him from one office to another, he said.
"I had no real job, just drinking tea and watching TV," the 45-year-old said.
He said he decided to defect when the security forces "decided to militarize the conflict in order to end the crisis."
Rahal predicted the Free Syrian Army would ultimately get the weapons it needs to finish off Assad.
"The Free Syrian Army is like a group of birds on a tree. If the regime tries to shoot one of the birds, the group flies off to another tree. The regime will never get them all," he said.

Sure, yes, the floor of the convention is not the place to get a cold-eyed view of how a speech is playing to Real America. I just thought that Ann Romney was rhetorically effective for the same reason a soft-focus magazine profile might be effective. Tuna fish, pasta, ironing board?banal details that make you feel like you know this person. She's Just Like Us!
If it turns out to be a bust, it'll be because it was one of the thousand or so Romney "memes" that really, really impresses the campaign and the base, and sounds weird to the non-aligned. The whole idea that being a mother is hard?not to circle back on vocab already, but a very banal idea?is a callback to Hilary Rosen's late-night CNN comment that Ann Romney had "never worked a day in her life." The Romney campaign pounced on that immediately with thematic bumper stickers ("Moms build America," I think) and a days-long argument about how liberals disrespect women. It was strange. But so was the outrage over Obama's "build that" comment, which?in a mutilated form?was the theme of the night.
This was all just the pre-game, you realize. Right? I'd expect Paul Ryan's remarks tonight to make a few feints toward Medicare boldness (i.e., reform that promises never to cut anything for current, Republican-voting seniors) but a lot more about his hardscrabble upbringing and his fishing/hunting hobbies. It probably won't be as defensive as Palin in 2008?remember how some mysterious force emanating from Chicago was disrespecting "small towns"??but it'll carry on the subtle, smart strategy of presuming that liberals don't understand families or real work.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ? The Minnesota Twins will host the 2014 All-Star game at Target Field.
A person with knowledge of the decision, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither the Twins nor Major League Baseball had announced it, confirmed the news on Tuesday. The decision was first reported by the Star Tribune.
The Twins scheduled a news conference for Wednesday afternoon to make an unspecified "major announcement regarding an upcoming event to be hosted at Target Field," which opened in 2010. The award of MLB's 2014 midsummer showcase to Minnesota has been widely expected for years. Commissioner Bud Selig has all but declared it several times previously.
The 2013 All-Star game is set for Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. The Kansas City Royals hosted this year's game at Kauffman Stadium.
Minnesota last hosted the All-Star game in 1985 at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, where the Twins played for 28 seasons before moving into their open-air, limestone-and-glass ballpark on the other side of downtown Minneapolis. They've sold an average of 35,202 tickets per game this year despite the worst record in the American League. The Twins lost 99 games last season, too, but drew more than 3.1 million fans.
Tampa Bay, an expansion team in 1998, is the only AL team that hasn't hosted an All-Star game. Other than the Rays, the Twins had the longest current wait in the AL for the game. The Oakland Athletics are next, having hosted the game in 1987.
Miami and Washington, D.C., are the leading contenders for the 2015 game. Because home-field advantage for the World Series goes to the All-Star winner, Selig has said he's reluctant to interrupt alternating All-Star sites between the leagues.
The Minnesota Wild hosted the NHL All-Star game at Xcel Energy Center in 2004, and the Minnesota Timberwolves were the home team for the NBA All-Star game at Target Center in 1994.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) ? Republicans emphatically approved a toughly worded party platform at their national convention Tuesday that would ban all abortions and gay marriages, reshape Medicare into a voucher-like program and reject federal spending as an antidote for the nation's ailing job market.
The document opens by warning that while the American Dream has long been of equal opportunity for everyone, "Today that American Dream is at risk." It pledges that the GOP will "begin anew, with profound changes in the way government operates; the way it budgets, taxes and regulates."
Both parties routinely approve platforms at their conventions every four years, meant to encapsulate their principles and goals. Much of their details are customarily ignored when it comes to actually governing.
Even so, a poll by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center found more people interested in the GOP platform than in the upcoming acceptance speeches by presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan. The survey found that 52 percent said they were interested in learning about the Republican platform, compared to 44 percent interested in Romney's speech and 46 percent interested in Ryan's.
Democrats lambasted the platform and immediately sought to tie it to Romney, who has differed from some of its details. For instance, he has said he would allow abortions in cases of rape, incest or when the mother's life is threatened.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who is among several Democrats in Tampa trying to get their party's views heard, called the platform's stances on abortion and immigration "draconian" and "extreme" and blamed Romney. "What you have seen from him is that he does one thing, he says another," Villaraigosa said. "He has taken one position after another, time and again you know, and you can't have it both ways."
Here are key elements of the Republican platform:
JOB CREATION:
It states that the best jobs program is economic growth. "We do not offer yet another made-in-Washington package of subsidies and spending to create temporary or artificial jobs."
___
SMALL BUSINESS:
The GOP pledges to reform the tax code to make it easier for businesses to generate more capital and create more jobs.
___
TAXES:
"We reject the use of taxation to redistribute income, fund unnecessary or ineffective programs or foster the crony capitalism that corrupts both politicians and corporations."
It says a Republican administration would extend the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003, pending reform of the tax code. It says the party would strive to eliminate taxes on interest, dividends and capital gains altogether for lower- and middle-income taxpayers. It also would work to repeal the estate tax and the alternative minimum tax.
The party backs constitutional amendments to balance the federal budget and require a super majority for any tax increases.
___
MARRIAGE:
The platform affirms the rights of states and the federal government not to recognize same-sex marriage. It backs a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
___
VOTER INTEGRITY:
"Voter fraud is a political poison," the platform says. It praises legislation to require photo identification for voting and to prevent election fraud.
___
GUN CONTROL:
The party says it opposes legislation intended to restrict Second Amendment rights by limiting the capacity of clips or magazines or otherwise restoring the assault weapons ban passed during the Clinton presidency.
___
ABORTION:
The party states that "the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed." It opposes using public revenues to promote or perform abortion or to fund organizations that perform or advocate abortions. It says the party will not fund or subsidize health care that includes abortion coverage.
___
ENERGY:
The party is committed to domestic energy independence and an "all-of-the-above" energy policy, backing the exploration and development of the Outer Continental Shelf and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. It criticizes the Obama administration for picking winners and losers in the energy sector and expresses support for new coal-fired plants that will be low-cost, environmentally responsible and efficient.
It adds: "We will end the EPA's war on coal and encourage the increased safe development in all regions of the nation's coal resources." It calls on Congress to prohibit the EPA from moving forward with new greenhouse gas regulations "that will harm the nation's economy and threaten millions of jobs over the next quarter century."
____
MEDICARE and MEDICAID:
The platform pledges to move both Medicare and Medicaid away from "the current unsustainable defined-benefit entitlement model to a fiscally sound defined-contribution model." It supports a Medicare transition to a premium-support model with an income-adjusted contribution toward a health plan of the enrollee's choice. Age eligibility in Medicare must be made more realistic in light of longer life spans.
Medicaid services for low income people would be transformed into a block grant program in which the states would be given the flexibility to determine the best programs for their residents.
____
IMMIGRATION:
The platform makes clear that "we oppose any form of amnesty for those who, by intentionally violating the law, disadvantage those who have obeyed it." It demands that the Justice Department halt lawsuits against Arizona, Alabama and other states that have enacted tough measures against illegal immigrants. It says federal funding should be denied to universities that provide in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants. It advocates making English the official national language.
____
HEALTH CARE:
It states that a Republican president on his first day in office would use his waiver authority to halt progress in carrying out the health care act pushed through by President Barack Obama and that Republican victories in November would guarantee that the act is never implemented. It proposes a Republican plan based on improving health care quality and lowering costs and a system that promotes the free market and gives consumers more choice.
____
EDUCATION:
Republicans support consumer choice, including home schooling, local innovations such as single-sex classes, full-day school hours and year-round schools. It says Republicans renew their call for replacing family planning programs for teens "with abstinence education which teaches abstinence until marriage as the responsible and respected standard of behavior."
____
DEFENSE:
The platform says Republicans are "the party of peace through strength" and support the concept of American exceptionalism ? "the conviction that our country holds a unique place and role in human history." It criticizes the current administration for its weak positions toward such countries as North Korea, China and Iran and its reductions in military spending. The Republican national military strategy "restores as a principal objective the deterrence using the full spectrum of our military capabilities."

Like the rest of you, I?m extremely skeptical of Walt?s relationship with Todd. I loved the montage of them cooking. Walt is a wonderful teacher, encouraging even: ?You did fine Todd, you applied yourself, that?s as much as I can ask.? But, just as the Scarface reference in Episode 3 seems a handy foreshadowing of Walt?s eventual fate (speaking of which, what was the movie Mike was smugly watching when the DEA raided his house?), The Monkees? misleadingly upbeat ?Goin? Down? surely offers us some clues to the future of this relationship. ?And it's so hard to stay afloat/ I'm soakin' wet without a boat.? Walt is floating along at this point, clearly desperate for some human interaction?someone who looks up to him and respects him. Todd can?t judge Walt because he never knew him before. Walt was always Heisenberg to Todd. This recognition, as you mentioned, Matt, is all Walt has left.
Mike (Jonathan Banks)Photograph by Ursula Coyote/AMC.
But to answer your question more directly, no, it doesn?t seem like Walt has a plan, at least not a good one. This episode?s opening scene, which as Matt suggested might be the beginning (if not the middle) of Walt?s downfall, was the first time I really doubted one of his plans. Before last night, even if I wasn?t on his side, I always felt confident that Walt would figure everything out, but this plan seemed kind of, well, half-baked. What exactly is he proposing, and are they really scared of him just because he killed Gus? It?s still not clear to me why Declan would even go along with it; after all, if he just killed Walt, he?d be the guy who killed the guy who killed Gus. (Not to mention he?d eliminate his biggest competition.) But maybe that?s just me thinking a little too much like Walt, not keeping in mind the repercussions.
Let?s not forget Jesse, though. Walt?s promise from last week clearly didn?t go as planned?everyone didn?t win. With Mike dead, where does that leave Jesse? I was glad to see him walk away when Walt got all high and mighty about the ?blood money.? The earlier shot of Walter closing the garage door on Jesse and Mike made me (naively) hope that he was done with them?but now that Mike?s dead, I?m eager to see how Jesse reacts. Will he come back? Will he be the one to finally turn on Walt?
Speaking of Mike, our legal expert Emily is not here, but I?d love for someone to explain this to me: Is Mike Dan?s client, and if so, can a lawyer flip on a client like that? I don?t watch as many procedurals as you, Matt, but isn?t that illegal? At the very least, doesn?t it defeat the purpose of attorney-client privilege? I?m not exactly sure how this works, but it seems strange to me that Mike would leave himself vulnerable like that when he?s so careful about paying off everyone else?though I will admit I loved Gomez?s confident grin when Dan got caught.
Which reminds me, is anyone else skeptical of Walt?s excellent timing? It felt a little absurd to me that Walt would be in the office at the exact moment that Gomez told Hank that Dan would flip on Mike. It reminded me of the Arrested Development gag mocking TV shows in which characters turn on the TV and the segment they were discussing just happens to be playing exactly at that moment.
Emily Nussbaum wrote a fabulous piece in last week?s New Yorker making the suggestion that Breaking Bad might be ?a hero?s tale in disguise,? a story in which Hank is really the hero and the series ends with some relief for the ?suffering audience.? As much as I rooted for Walt to outsmart Hank in the show?s first few seasons, this episode reminded me that Hank is actually a great detective (even if he can?t see what?s right in front of him). But having the series end with Hank virtuous and victorious doesn?t sound like Breaking Bad at all. I suspect that Hank will have to compromise himself in this pursuit. After all, that scolding he got about spending too much time and effort trailing Mike screamed illegal wiretap. Or maybe now I?m just confusing this show with The Wire.
Shut the fuck up and let me die in peace,

Legal Intro
service - Many people mistakenly feel that estate planning only involves the writing of the will. Estate planning, however, may also involve financial, tax, medical and business planning. A will is an element with the planning process, however, you will require other documents also to completely address your estate planning needs.
Furthermore, there are numerous issues to think about in creating an estate plan. To start with, think about the next questions: What are my assets and what is their approximate value? Whom do I wish to receive those assets-and when? Who should manage those assets if I cannot-either within my lifetime or after my death? Who ought to be responsible for caring for my minor children basically become not able to look after them myself? Who should make decisions in my behalf concerning my care and welfare if I become not able to care for myself? What can I want completed with my remains when i die and where would i would like them buried, scattered or otherwise not laid unwind? Thus, through proper estate planning, you are able to determine: How and also by whom your assets is going to be managed for your benefit on your lifetime if you ever become struggling to manage them yourself.. When and under what circumstances it makes sense to distribute your assets during your lifetime. How and also to whom your assets will probably be distributed after your death. How and by whom your individual care will probably be managed and the way health care decisions is going to be made on your lifetime if you become not able to care for yourself.
Elder Law: Abuse Or Neglect

Elder abuse can happen in a number of methods include assaultive acts, neglect, financial exploitation and/or psychological or emotional mistreatment. An elderly individual is defined as someone who is age 65 or older.
Assault includes causing pain and/or injury by molesting, slapping, bruising, forced sex, cutting, burning, restraining.
Neglect includes refusal or failure to offer adequate care, food, shelter, clothing, medicine, and/or medical aides (glasses, dentures, walkers).

Senior Legal Assistance: Estate Planning
A full time income Trust can help insure that the assets is going to be managed in accordance with your wishes-even in the event you become struggling to manage them yourself.
In setting up your living trust, you could serve as its trustee initially or you may choose someone else to do so. You can name a trustee to consider over the trust's management for your benefit if you ever become unable or unwilling to control it yourself. And also at your death, the trustee-similar for the executor of your will-would then gather your assets, pay any debts, claims and taxes, and distribute your assets based on your instructions. Unlike a will, however, this could be done without court supervision or approval.
However, not everybody needs a living trust. Young married people without significant assets and without children, who intend to leave their assets to each other when the first one of these dies do not require an income trust and wouldn't normally reap the benefits of using a living trust. Other persons that do not have significant assets and have quite simple estate plans also don't need an income trust. Finally, anyone who wants court supervision within the administration of their estate should not use a living trust. The greater the price of your assets (particularly if you own real-estate), the greater the requirement for a full time income trust. Having an income trust could possibly be crucial in the event of your accident or sudden illness.
Guardianship Or Caregiver Agreements

They may be governed by the state's individual laws. In California, they're governed from the California Probate Code, and Welfare and Institutions Codes. Some states or jurisdictions it is known as a guardianship, or possibly a trustee, rather than a conservator.
Conservatorships are generally set up for severely mentally ill those who are gravely disabled, elderly individuals with Dementia or Alzheimer's who lack mental capacity, or individuals with developmental disabilities who may or may not lack mental capacity. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) ? Republican National Convention officials say Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, will be speaking during prime-time television coverage of the event.
The presumptive Republican nominee said Friday that he was "disappointed" that the networks weren't planning to broadcast more of the convention.
"I know a number of the networks are looking to put money to the bottom line and they might not think that three hours or four hours of broadcasting a convention makes economic sense for them," Romney said. "But this is an important time for our nation."
Romney, in a radio interview on "The Hugh Hewitt Show," said his wife's convention speech is finished. But his speech is "still a work in progress."
Mrs. Romney is a key surrogate in a race where women voters are fiercely sought after by Romney and Democratic President Barack Obama.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising national figure in the party, had offered to give up his slot speaking Thursday for Mrs. Romney, who was scheduled to speak on Monday, the convention's opening night. Broadcast television networks were not planning to cover Monday's proceedings in Tampa.
However, the freshman senator and tea party favorite will keep his Thursday slot, and address the convention in his home state just before Romney closes the convention with his acceptance speech.
